| 5 November 1887 There is a report of the crime in the County Express Saturday 5 November 1887 p.6 col.3: George Alfred Perkins (14), Level Street, was charged with stealing a rabbit, the property of Thomas Kay, Mill Street, on the 14th ult. The rabbit was missed from prosecutor's house, and prisoner was arrested. When charged by Police-constable Yates, prisoner said "Yes, I did steal the rabbit." The defendant had been living away from his father for two months. He was sent to Stafford for twenty-one days, and afterwards to a reformatory for three years. | |
