| 7 July 1894 There is a brief report of the crime in the Staffordshire Advertiser Saturday 7 July 1894 p.3 col.5: William Mason, 14, labourer, to four charges of stealing bicycles at Wednesbury, and one of housebreaking at Wednesbury. The Chairman said that the prisoner had been imprisoned before, and imprisonment did not seem to have had any effect He would now have seven days imprisonment, twelve strokes with a birch rod, and afterwards be detained in a reformatory till he attained the age of eighteen. | |
