| 16 February 1869 There is a short report of the crime in the Birmingham Daily Gazette Tuesday 16 February 1869 p.4 col.6: THEFT OF A SHOULDER OF MUTTON.- Thomas Hill (14), labourer, Kent Street, North, was charged with stealing a shoulder of mutton from the shop of George Hartell, butcher, Winson Green, value 2s. 8d.-The prisoner, who was along with another boy not in custody, stole the mutton about one o'clock on Friday.-The prisoner was remanded until today, in order that his employers might be communicated with. |
