Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

The war diary for July and August 1917 is missing from the original record and therefore we cannot refer to it. We can say that Thomas was killed on the first day of the Battle of Langemarck and that his burial site at Hogeziekenweg is just a few kilometers away from Langemarck. We are endeavouring to find out exactly where and why Thomas was killed.
