Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
The Brigade was based at Lievin in July 1918 and on the 1st, 9th and 12th July the war diary mentions being hit by enemy gas shells. Percy died in hospital from the effects of gas poisoning. At the time of Percy's death on the 14th July 1918 the 42nd and 57th Casualty Clearing Stations were based at Aubigny where he is buried.
