Circumstances of Death
| James is listed as having died of wounds on 27 Apr 1917. It's war diary and newspaper reports regarding James show that the 17th Field Ambulance were involved in providing casualty evacuation and treatment during the Attack on Vimy Ridge during the Battle of Arras. James was wounded by shrapnel at an Advanced Dressing Station on the 27 Apr 1917 and taken to the 33rd Casualty Clearing Station at Bethune where he died the same day. |
