Circumstances of Death

Harold died of pneumonia and heart failure at the 2nd General Hospital in Bristol on 13th October 1914. The Leamington Spa Courier reported that Harold died within two weeks of his enlistment. 

We have not been able to find any records of burials nor any military records relating to Harold who, according to a newspaper report, died within two weeks of enlisting. His death certificate states that he was a Private in the Wiltshire Regiment at the time of his death in a military hospital near Bristol.
