Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

It is not known exactly when Thomas was wounded but the Battery moved to Dickebusch on June 14th 1917 and were subject to very heavy shelling. They remained in that area until 22nd June when the Battery moved to new positions are Spoil Bank. The period 17th June to 22nd June seems to have been very quiet and it is assumed that he was wounded by enemy shell fire between the 14th and 17th. He was taken to one of the field ambulances in the area.
