Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

On March 10th 1915 the Battalion were in the front line trenches near Givenchy. The Regiment was not employed in the main Battle of Neuve Chapelle, but the 1st Battalion took part in an expensive and unsuccessful holding attack on the village of Givenchy. The Battalion was the only one to enter the enemy trenches but incurred heavy losses: Officers: killed 6, wounded 2; Other Ranks: 239 including Arthur.

Arthur Constable of Long Itchington was killed in the same action having enlisted with Arthur Wasbrook.
