George was discharged from the Army on 15 Nov 1917 due to illness and was given a Silver Badge number 265372. At the time of his discharge he had been transferred to 5C Reserve Brigade at Charlton Park near Woolwich. George died on 18 August 1920 with a number of conditions at the Ministry of Pensions Hospital, Hollymoor. His death certificate states that he died of Gastric Ulcer, Malaria, Gastro Enterostomy and Cardiac Failure. Click death certificate below.
