Military Medal

Joseph was awarded the Military Medal the circumstances were that on the Gallipoli Peninsula, with the rank of Corporal, he acted with bravery and devotion to duty, when under heavy shelling he had gone out to repair telephone lines to maintain communications with the battery. The award was Gazetted on 11 Nov 1916

Circumstances of Death

Joseph died of Influenza (Spanish Flu) at the 56th General Hospital in Etaples on 2 Dec 1918.
