Circumstances of Death

John is listed as dying of wounds on 14th September 1916 and was buried at Bois-Guillaume near Rouen, which was used by the No.8 General Hospital for burials. The hospital is roughly 150 km from the front lines where the 15th Battalion was situated at that time. We have not been able to identify when John was originally wounded and therefore we have not reproduced any war diary entries.
