Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
A report in the Coventry Herald on 11 Aug 1916 states that Albert had died by drownging "while bathing he became entangled in the weeds. His comrades went to his assistance but were unable to save him and four doctors tried artificial means of restoration but in vain". |

On the day he drowned the 110th Railway Company were building a new railway siding at Ancre Junction, Meaulte which is on the Ancre River.
