Tuesday Sept 8 - Action of Le Tretoire (Boitron):
Battn march at 5.15am as vanguard to II Division. About 11am the enemy was encountered holding the wooded slopes S of the village of Boitron with infantry and machine guns.

The brigade attacked and after considerable opposition the village gained (sic). A general pursuit followed and the enemy appeared to suffer considerably from artillery fire.

Towards evening the Battn had a sharp engagement with a number of machine guns which their infantry escort attempted to break through and about 70 Germans & 7 machine guns with 8 bombers were captured.

Casualties:- Capt Hardy, Lt Loyd wounded. Other ranks 3 killed and 7 wounded all in No 1 Coy.

The Battalion bivoucked at Petit Villiers.
