- Fredercick had recovered from being wounded in the shoulder at Ploogsteert on 18 Oct 1915 and was returned to his unit in France on 20 Jan 1916.
Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

Robert is listed as dying of wounds on 18 May 1918. He service records shows that he died at the 13th Casualty Clearing Station at Arneke. The war diary indicates (but not confirmed) that he was wounded on 15 May 1918 near Ledegem as that is the only day that the diary mentions casualties. The war diary for the 15th is transcribed below. May 15: - Training etc. Enemy shelled vacinity of the camp with H.E. shells causing 14 casualties. END |
