Circumstances Leading to Death
From 14th Field Ambulance Admission RecordsOn the 6th March 1917 Albert was admitted to the 14th Field Ambulance at St. Omer and diagnosed with the skin disease Erysipelas, caused by the bacteria Streptococcus pyogeneson entering the body via a cut or wound. He died the following day in the nearby 7th General Hospital. The record for the above can be found in the First World War Soldiers' Medical Records set on Find My Past. |
