Arthur is listed as having died of wounds on 20th June 1918. The 248th Siege Battery war diary shows that he died of the effects of [poison] gas.

In the field near La Vicogne – 19 Jun 1918: 2/1 Lancs & 135 Heavy Batteries R.G.A. came into the line to take part in an operation and returned to La Vicogne night 20/21st.

In the field near La Vicogne – 20 Jun 1918: Lt. A.E.C. Perry 248 Siege Battery RGA died of wounds (Gas).
