Circumstances of Death

George is listed as dying on the 28th April 1917 from wounds received in action. The relevant part of his service record is a little blurred but states that he was wounded in action on the 15th April and admitted to 8th Casualty Clearing Station with gunshot wounds to the back and died on the 28th.

The record is pasted below with the yellow lines indicating the relevant informtion. This is important because it doesn't really tally with the war diary entries for the period 14th to 16th April which are transcribed below it.
