James is listed as dying of wounds on 13th May 1915 at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station in Hazebrouck. We have not been able to track down the war diary for the 3rd Motor Machine Gub Corps for 1915. The following newspaper obiturary was published in the North Wales Weekly News on 20 May 1915 and shows that James was wounded and burned by a Petrol Bomb Shell.
