Ernest died on 17th September 1921 of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Tubercular Abscesses at his home, 49 Waterloo Street, Leamington Spa. He was subsequently buried in a private, unmarked, grave at Leamington (Whitnash Road) Cemetery.
