  • 01 May 1908 - Transferred to 1st Bn Norfolk Regiment as Pte 7688
  • 24 Sep 1909 - Posted to 2nd Bn Norfolk Regiment
  • 29 Aug 1910 - Left army by "buying himself out" just prior to being posted to India
  • 04 Sep 1914 - Re-enlisted in Essex Regiment

Circumstances of Death

William is listed as being killed in action on 21st September 1915. The 1st/7th Battalion war diary page covering the period 16th to 30th September 1915 is pasted below and shows that William was the only casualty of an otherwise apparantly quiet day.

Although we believe that we have the correct L/Sgt P Wyborn we have not yet found any connection to Leamington Spa at all, however
there is a gap in records between the 1911 Census and the start of WW1.
