Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

The battalion were in the lines at Bouchavesnes when at 4.30am they launched a successful attack on German postitions to their east and after heavy fighting, an enemy artillery barrage and a counter attack the captured and held onto Pallas & Fritz trenches. George was killed during this action.
