Albert is listed as being killed in action on 23rd July 1916. the 10th Battalion war diary entry for that day is transcribed below. 23 Jul 1916: This trench we were ordered to hold at all costs. Our front line was then held by C & D Coys under Captain Seilex and A & B Coys were in a reserve line under 2nd Lt O'Donnell.
Casualties: 3 Officers and 9 OR's killed; 6 Officers and 81 OR's wounded; 31 OR's missing |
