William is listed as dying of wounds incurred in action at the 17th Casualty Clearing Station in Lijssenthoek, Ypres. The 20th Signal Company war diary for the period shows that they were positioned in Poperinghe Town Hall but unfortunately does not any detail, however minor, to enable us to narrow down the actual date that Williamm was wounded.
