Circumstances of Death

Charles is listed as being killed in action on 20th August 1917. We have not been able to find any information about the day he was killed and the History of the 2nd Battalion Duke of Cornwall's Light History does not mention any events in August 1917 at all. The Salonika Campaign war diaries are not yet on line and therefore we cannot comment on the events leading to the death in action of Charles.
