Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
Henry was killed by the explosion of an enemy shell during a barrage that also killed another 3 men as they were laying down fire on enemy lines at Messines. All four men were killed while going to the rescue of wounded colleagues.The other men killed and buried alongside Henry were 2nd Lt. Westwood; Gnr Thornhill and Bmdr Ellaway
