Harry is listed as being killed in action on 7th November 1918, just 4 days before the end of the war. The 10th Battalion war diary entries for the period 6th to 8th November are transcribed below - along with a link to the Battalion Narrative of Operations report for the same period. Jenlain - Wed Nov 6th: The Bttn received orders to move to BRY and arrived in new area at 1300 hrs. At 2300 hrs the Battn took over the line from 8th Bttn N. Staffordshire Regt (56th Brigade). Relief Complete at 0400 hrs. END Front Line - Thurs Nov 7th: An attack was made on a 2 Coy front - A&B Coys in front line and C&D Coys in support. 8 Bn The Gloster Regt in Reserve. Zero 0600 hrs. The attack was very successful, no enemy being encountered. Advanced to line East of Bois De Verdain. Battn HQ at Chateau De Waringcamp Front Line - Friday Nov 8th: The attack was continued C & D Coys being in front with A&B Coys in Support. The advance was continued to the East of Malplaquet where the Battn was held up by enerny M.G. fire.
