Circumstances of Death

Harry is listed as dying of wounds received in action on 24th September 1917 at the 35th Field Ambulance, Lijssenthoek from gunshot wounds and a compound fracture of the skull received the same day.

We have not been able to find the 294th Siege Battery war diary for September 1917 and therefore we are unable to comment of the events leading to Harry's death.
