Circumstances of Death

James listed as being killed in action on 16th August 1917 near Ypres. He was one of 5 men from his Battery who were buried at Track X Cemetery that day. Unfortunately the 126th Brigade war diary is missing the entries for July and August and therefore, in the absence of any information on the internet, we cannot comment on the events of the day. The Warwickshire Roll of Honour book states that he was killed by shellfire.
