Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)           

George died of pneumonia at the Cork Street Hospital in Dublin. His unit, the 2nd/1st Oxfordshire Hussars never served aboard. He joined them in May 1917 when they were stationed at Ipswich. In July 1917 they moved to Wivenhoe and then in November to Frinton and Manningtree. After that, in January 1918, they moved to Ireland and spent rest of war in Dublin.
