Circumstances of Death

William's Army Pension card states that he died of "self inflicted wounds during temporary insanity" on 15th June 1918. William's death certificate states that he died of strangulation caused by hanging himself whilst of unsound mind in a house in Bishop's Itchington. William joined the Royal Defence Corps on 31 May 1915 and served with them until he was discharged due to sickness on 1 May 1917. |
