Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)

On the 10th May the battalion moved to a field near St Nicholas just NE of Arras in preparation for the planned attack on Crow and Crook trenches the following day. They then moved to Chemical works and took up positions on the brown line. The attack was a success and both objectives were taken.
