Circumstances Leading to Death (Normally from War Diary)
All we can say about Frederick's death is that it was from Malaria (Pension) in Basra, he had been hospitalised in 1916k, presumably for Malaria. This article from the Western Front Association discusses Malaria in the Great War which saw infection leading to hospitalisation rates as high as 700 per 1000 soldiers but more typically 350 to 700.
13th Brigade fought in France before moving to Mesopotamia and then Palestine.
