Three men wounded – one died of his wounds the following day. On night of 17/18 an effort to take a prisoner in accordance with 3rd Army Cops orders was made by a party under 2nd Lt A.W.L. Groom who patrolled with a bomb party – No prisoner was taken but the party threw bombs when they encountered the enemy & only retired when forced to do so by superior fire & numbers of enemy having penetrated nearly as far as enemies trenches. |
