Frederick is listed as being killed in action on 11th August 1918. The 32nd Battalion war diary entries for the period 9th to 12th August are transcribed below.

Genteue Wood – 9 Aug 1918: Bn Moved to Wood D14C sheet 66E. Coys affiliated to Brigades.

Genteue Wood – 10 Aug 1918: Division attacked with 96th Bde on right and 97th Bde of left and reached line La Cameuse – Western edge of Bois en Equerre – L28.a.5.0 – L.22. central – L.17 central

Casualties heavy due to M.G. fire.

La Cameuse – Bois en Equerre line – 11 Aug 1918: Attack resumed at 9.30am, 14th Bde leap frogged 96th Bde.

Casualties: 2/lt G.B. Dallas wounded; 14 OR killed & 35 OR wounded.

Division held up at old Bosche front line. Division relieved by 3rd Canadian Division.
