Circumstances of Death

Herbert is listed of dying of wounds on September 4th 1918 and he was buried at Pernes British Cemetery which was used by the 6th, 13th and 22nd Casualty Clearing Stations. The 10th Bn War Diary does not list any casualties in the days leading up to Herbert's death and were are unable to say under what circumstances he was originally wounded.
